Motor City Machine Guns finally make explosive SmackDown debut; already close to WWE titles
Motor City Machine Guns finally made their SmackDown debut this week. They have gotten one step closer to winning a major WWE title.
The competition for the tag titles is heating up each week. The current WWE Tag Team Champions, The Bloodline, have a lot of challengers waiting in line to challenge them.
Hence, to determine who will challenge The Bloodline next, a tournament was announced, which featured two Triple Threat matches. In the first match, DIY managed to get a narrow win and advance to the next stage. In the second match, it was A-Town Down Under, Angel Garza & Humberto Carrillo, and the debuting Motor City Machine Guns.
This was their first time competing in a WWE ring as a tag team. Alex Shelley previously competed a couple of times on NXT and even participated in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Tournament when he teamed with Kushida in 2020. Shelley also competed on an episode of Sunday Night Heat in 2005. However, this was Chris Sabin's first time competing on WWE TV.
The Motor City Machine Guns showed their experience, as they didn't spend a lot of effort and energy to pick up the win. With this win, they will now face DIY next week, and the winner of that match will challenge The Bloodline for the titles.
It will be interesting to see if Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin will be able to continue their winning ways.
