Multi-time WWE World Champion wants to team up with John Cena before his retirement
Former WWE Champion John Cena will embark on a year-long Retirement Tour in 2025. Meanwhile, multi-time World Champion CM Punk has shared an intriguing pitch for The Franchise Player's Retirement Tour.
At the 2024 Money in the Bank PLE in Toronto, Canada, The Cenation Leader revealed the details of his Retirement Tour. He stated that next year's WrestleMania would be his final in-ring appearance at The Showcase of The Immortals before his last match in December 2025.
The Best in The World has previously expressed his interest in lacing up his boots one last time for a match against his former rival. However, during the 2024 World Wrestling Entertainment panel at San Diego Comic-Con, CM Punk hinted at a possible alliance with John Cena, as he claimed that the duo could make for an entertaining tag team.
"Everybody’s asking me, because [John] Cena has announced his retirement, that, obviously, they want to see us fight each other. I think there’s something to me and him tagging. I think that can be pretty interesting," he said. [50:09-50:20]
