Multiple WWE stars allegedly tried to get Omos fired; Bobby Lashley reveals the reason why
Omos hasn't appeared in WWE for months, sparking doubt over his future in the company. The Nigerian Giant hasn't had the smoothest of runs, with a recent story suggesting that multiple superstars tried to get him fired a few years ago.
Former WWE Superstar Bobby Lashley spoke extensively about the 7-foot stat on the Lame Guys Podcast. The All-Mighty touched on their WrestleMania feud from 2022, claiming the credit for his improvement in the ring.
Lashley revealed that a few WWE Superstars tried to get Omos fired because he allegedly hit too hard. He, on the other hand, embraced the challenge of facing such a large opponent in the ring:
"When (Omos) first came on, they were gonna fire him because he hurt a couple people. He’s a freaking giant. He makes me feel like a child and when he came in there at the beginning, he was wrestling with certain people and there was a couple people like, ‘Gosh dang it!’ And yelling at him and trying to make him look bad to the office and trying to get him fired because he hit a dude hard and stuff like that. So when they put him with me, I was like, ‘I’ll work with him,’ because I understand where he’s coming from and I had the mentality of Taker," said Bobby Lashley. [H/T Post Wrestling]
The latest on Omos in WWE
The Nigerian Giant was last seen on the night before WrestleMania 40, competing in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal. This is seemingly part of Triple H's plan to keep him as a part-time attraction. MVP recently spoke about this following his WWE exit:
"Triple H was adamant that he didn’t want him to be another Big Show. He didn’t want him on TV every week. He wanted him to be an attraction. He just wanted to break him out periodically to be an attraction."
Omos has not wrestled a televised singles match since May 2023, when he lost to Seth Rollins at Backlash. It isn't known when he will return to WWE, although the 2025 Royal Rumble Match seems like a safe bet.
