MVP drops major reunion tease following official WWE departure

The second WWE run of MVP has come to an end. The veteran wrestler and manager officially became a WWE Alumni today, and the rumor mill is buzzing about potential major plans for the near future. The former Hurt Business boss has just dropped a major teaser now that he's a free agent.

Montel Vontavious Porter recently confirmed his World Wrestling Entertainment departure and challenged another top talent at a wrestling event. He was moved to the WWE Alumni roster today, making him a free agent. Bobby Lashley was also moved to the Alumni roster today as he has also left the company. Fans have speculated for weeks on a potential reunion of MVP and Lashley outside of WWE.

The Franchise Player has not issued a formal post-WWE statement, but he did take to X today to post a cryptic message featuring Lashley. The three-time WWE champion shared a menacing backstage GIF of The All-Mighty and captioned it with one emoji and an ellipsis. MVP's X account does not allow embedding, but you can see a screenshot below.

"[smiling face with sunglasses emoji]...," MVP posted with the GIF below.

MVP and Lashley are expected to have interest from AEW, but nothing has been confirmed. There's talk of a potential debut at AEW All In, but at this point, the chatter is nothing but rumors and speculation.

Former WWE star warns MVP and Bobby Lashley about AEW

Longtime talents MVP and Bobby Lashley are free agents once again. The former Hurt Business members are expected to have interest from several promotions, including AEW and TNA.

EC3's last run with World Wrestling Entertainment went from January 2018 until April 2020. The current NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion appeared on Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Outlaws podcast with Vince Russo and Dr. Chris Featherstone and had a warning for MVP and Lashley ahead of any Hurt Business reunion in AEW.

"Should The Hurt Business form? Should MVP and Bobby [Lashley] be free to create their own creative thing and run hog-wild with it and take it all across the world? Absolutely, 100 percent. (...) Sure, they could go to AEW and guess what, some matches are gonna happen and their music is gonna play and they're gonna walk out and it's a big reaction, and the next week, they're already in a big blowoff match of a main event feud that could take six months to build and would've been really cool, but instead, they just throw it away and everything goes back to normal," EC3 said. The All-Mighty has not wrestled since defeating Santos Escobar on May 5 at a non-televised live event in France. Lashley's last TV match came on April 12 as he worked the SmackDown #1 contender's Triple Threat with Escobar and winner LA Knight.
