"My 2nd ACL surgery" - WWE star sends emotional message following return after 8 months
A popular WWE Superstar recently sent an emotional message on social media following her return from injury after eight months. The name in question is NXT star Nikkita Lyons.
Lyons last competed on WWE television on the January 9, 2024, episode of the white and gold brand, when she locked horns with Blair Davenport. She, unfortunately, suffered an injury that sidelined her from in-ring competition.
However, she recently made an electrifying return to the squared circle on September 27, 2024, during an NXT live event. She teamed up with Dante Chen to defeat Izzi Dame and Jasper Troy in a Mixed Tag Team match.
Following the win, Nikki Lyons took to X/Twitter to send an emotional message. The NXT star wrote that she missed wrestling a lot during her recovery and thanked everyone for their kind messages during that difficult time. Lyons also thanked the WWE medical team for helping her recover.
"It’s been 8 months since my 2nd ACL surgery, I missed you guys sooo much. I’m overwhelmed with all the kind comments and messages, please know that I see you and I’m infinitely grateful for your love and support! It’s been a long road but life will test you to see how bad you really want it and how hard you’re willing to fight. Everything we go through is to learn, level up and ascend. HUGE shoutout to the WWE Medical team for helping guide me through everything, especially TARA!!!! I love you dearly and I love you WWE NXT Universe! TIME TO MF POUNCE," she wrote.

Nikkita Lyons wanted to return to WWE television ahead of NXT Halloween Havoc
During an edition of Booker T's Hall of Fame podcast, Nikkita Lyons said that she hoped to return ahead of NXT Halloween Havoc which is scheduled for October 27, 2024.
"It’s been two months since my surgery, and honestly, I feel like these two months went pretty quick, at least for me, because run on the grind every day. But right now, I’m hoping by Halloween Havoc. I’m hoping that’ll be a good time. But also I want to make sure… it should be ready to go. But I don’t want to say an exact, you know, like, ‘It’s gonna be here,’ because with injuries, it’s kind of day by day," Lyons said.
Nikkita Lyons has returned almost a month before NXT Halloween Havoc. It will be interesting to see what Shawn Michaels has in store for the star.
