"My brain doesn't think that way," Otis responds to most significant moment of his WWE career

Otis vs. Chad Gable is a match WWE has seemingly kept on hold. After the crowd erupted at the sight of the former Money in the Bank winner shoving Gable for pushing him to the limit, the company brought The Wyatt Sicks into the equation, pushing Alpha Academy to the backseat.

While touching on a bevy of topics recently, including a potential fight with his former friend, Otis looked back at a crucial part of his career—that is, his Money in the Bank win four years ago. In 2020, COVID forced WWE to make drastic changes to the product as fans were no longer part of the show live.

Otis recounted on Insight with Chris Van Vliet that it was a matter of who was healthy and who was not, as every athlete was being tested. When asked if he saw himself becoming a World Champion after winning the briefcase, he responded by highlighting the importance of improving the storyline:

"My brain doesn’t think that way. Basically it’s how can I make this bigger than it can be. It’s tough without the crowd too because you are not getting that immediate reaction live, you getting it online mostly. You could do a few things. Then the Otis court case, that was a hilarious day by the way," he said. [H/T: Inside The Ropes]

The 32-year-old also revealed that Jamie Noble wanted him to have a King Kong-style victory, tearing his shirt off on top of the ladder and roaring. He also noted that he was informed he would be winning shortly before they shot the scenes.

Otis' dream scenario is a WrestleMania singles match vs. Chad Gable

In the first half of 2024, one of WWE's most compelling storylines that fans ate up was Chad Gable's dominance over his stablemates after turning heel. This prompted the crowd to repeatedly chant for Otis, but the latter refused to stand up to Master Gable. Until he said that enough was enough.

Although WWE has gone another direction with Chad Gable after this popular moment, the former Money in the Bank winner hopes the creative team will book their match eventually on The Grandest Stage of Them All:

"Definitely a singles match at WrestleMania. I mean, everyone talks about the title. For me it's basically, probably a big match with Gable hopefully would be cool."

Gable has since been feuding with The Wyatt Sicks, who targeted him upon their debut. He also formed a new stable, dubbed American Made.
