WWE News: Neville's Cruiserweight Division move update
With the announcement of the Cruiserweight division, many believed that Neville’s time had come, and not only would he be part of the division, but he would be one of the central figures of the division due to his high flying style of wrestling and his natural charisma.
Many were bewildered by the fact that he was not in the Cruiserweight division, and even more so after Sin Cara was moved to the division but not him. According to All Wrestling News, there are no plans as of now or anytime soon for Neville to move to the Cruiserweight division.
It is unfortunate for The Man that gravity forgot because he has been in creative limbo since his arrival to the main roster last year right after Wrestlemania 31, and being one of the key figures to the division would have greatly helped boost his career.
At the moment, Neville is feud-less and has been pairing up with former NXT rival Sami Zayn time and again. There seem to be no creative plans for him at the moment. If not for being a part of the Cruiserweight division, he would have greatly benefited from going to Smackdown Live like many other stars have.
There were rumours that WWE were planning on getting a Cruiserweight division on Smackdown Live as well, but that plan seems to have been scrapped and replaced by the 205 Live show that is set to premier later this month.
The show is set to feature names like Cruiserweight Champion Brian Kendrick, TJ Perkins, Rich Swann, Noam Dar, HoHo Lun, Cedric Alexander, Lince Dorado, Gran Metallik, Tozawa, Jack Gallagher, Guru Sihra and Harv Sihra (The Bollywood Boyz).
According to Wrestling News World, the show's three central figures will be Kendrick, Perkins, and Swann.
The booking of the Cruiserweights on Raw has been criticised by fans and critics alike, and one of the biggest criticisms has been the lack of storytelling that makes the live audiences very apathetic towards the Cruiserweight matches. Despite 205 Live, The Cruiserweights will continue to be on Raw as well.
Hopefully, 205 Live, which will be aired right after Smackdown Live on the WWE Network will help give the Cruiserweights the level of freedom that they got in the Cruiserweight Classic that made the tournament and each individual wrestler feel special.
Do you believe 205 Live will benefit the Cruiserweights?
