Wrestling veteran shares his take on IYO SKY's recent WWE match

IYO SKY faced one-half of the Women's Tag Team Champions Bianca Belair in a singles match on the September 16 edition of Monday Night RAW. The Damage CTRL member defeated The EST of WWE by countering a KOD attempt with a double-leg pinfall to secure the win.

On Sportskeeda Wrestling's Legion of RAW, former WWE Head Writer Vince Russo criticized how the match finished. The 63-year-old stated that Belair sustaining a kayfabe injury while the two were fighting outside the squared circle to lose the contest would have made more sense and protected the champion.

"The way they got IYO SKY over, Belair had her in her finish. That doesn’t protect Bianca Belair at all. They were doing all that dangerous stuff on the outside when she had her up and carried her in the ring. Have her [Bianca] blow out her knees right there; that’s the finish. Not when she hits her [IYO] with the move and then gets beat," Russo said.
