New York Yankees manage to put The Judgment Day back into WWE star Damian Priest
Damian Priest briefly returned to his Judgment Day roots due to the New York Yankees. Priest, who is a huge fan of the Yankees, was part of the team's hype video ahead of Game One of the 2024 World Series.
The Yankees are back in the World Series for the first time since 2009 and are looking to win their 28th championship. They will face the LA Dodgers, a dream match for many MLB fans around the world.
In a video on their official X account, the Yankees seemingly managed to put the Judgment Day back in Damian Priest for a short time. The Archer of Infamy is a longtime supporter of the team and hyped the team for their first World Series game in 15 years.
"With a battle-tested team full of tenacity, swag and power, All Rise! In a sport that is fueled by the moments, in a home that comes alive by those that fit, in the borough defined by its grit, in a concrete jungle filled with ferrocious cats, in a city like no other. What is it going to take? Everything," Priest said.
Damian Priest was one of the two original members of The Judgment Day along with Edge. Priest was with the stable for two years before he got kicked off at SummerSlam by Finn Balor.
For wrestling fans, All Rise is one of the iconic catchphrases of The Judgment Day. For baseball fans, it's the nickname of New York Yankees superstar Aaron Judge.
Damian Priest thinks the Yankees will win the World Series this year
Speaking to Justin Barrasso's Undisputed on Substack, Damian Priest expressed his admiration for the New York Yankees. Priest visited Yankee Stadium earlier this year and brought the World Heavyweight Championship to the team. He has been friends with some of the players, who are big wrestling fans.
"The Yankees, they’re my team. That’s why I was so honored to bring the title to Yankee Stadium. Jose Trevino's a big WWE fan, and we’ve kept in touch. I love to support my friends, and he’s a friend. There are a lot of guys on the team who like wrestling. Trevino and Tommy (Kahnle) are the two biggest wrestling fans on the team, and (Nick) Swisher is a huge fan, too. I’m always pulling for them. I really think this is their year," Priest said.
Game One of the World Series between the Yankees and Dodgers starts on Friday in Los Angeles. The first two games will be held at Dodgers Stadium before the next three are played at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx. If there is to be a Game Six and Seven, the series returns to Hollywood.
