Nia Jax’s current rival mocks her for recent actions on WWE SmackDown
WWE SmackDown is heating up on the Road to SummerSlam. Nia Jax is set to receive a championship opportunity, but several obstacles have been in her way on the blue brand. After a recent viral moment, her current rival, Mia Yim, is mocking her with a hilarious response.
Queen Nia is challenging Bayley for the Women's Championship at SummerSlam. The Queen of the Ring winner recently linked up with Ms. Money In the Bank Tiffany Stratton to help terrorize The Role Model, but Bayley called on Mia Yim to even the odds. Thanks to Bayley, Michin defeated Stratton in last week's SmackDown.
The Irresistible Force was at ringside last week, pulling her own shenanigans. At one point, she grabbed some popcorn from two young fans. WWE shared a clip of Jax's antics on Instagram today, and Yim took to the comments section to react.
"SHE DONT EVEN LIKE POPCORN TF," Mia Yim wrote in the comments.
The SmackDown women's division superstars' rivalry continued tonight as Jax and Stratton defeated Bayley and Yim. Bayley and Yim teamed up on three occasions for SHIMMER in 2012, but this was their first time in the Stamford-based promotion.
Nia Jax to receive first shot at WWE Women's Championship since 2021
Nia Jax won World Wrestling Entertainment's second Queen of the Ring Tournament earlier this year. She will now challenge Bayley for the WWE Women's Championship at SummerSlam on August 3.
The Women's Championship was previously known as the RAW Women's Championship. Jax's last singles match for this particular title came on September 6, 2021. Then-champion Charlotte Flair defeated her in just over eight minutes that night.
Since the Flair match, The Irresistible Force has had a few other televised title shots. She worked a Fatal Five-Way for the Women's World Championship at Crown Jewel in 2023 when Rhea Ripley was the champion. She also lost a singles title match to Ripley at Elimination Chamber this past February.
Jax has held the RAW Women's Championship on one occasion and the Women's Tag Team Championship twice. She had three shots at the NXT Women's Championship but never held gold. Her first-ever TV title match in the company was a loss to then-NXT champion Bayley at TakeOver: London in December 2015.
