Nick Aldis announces major match for WWE Crown Jewel during SmackDown

WWE Crown Jewel is right around the corner, one week from Saturday. Now, Nick Aldis has announced another major match for the show.

It's been a few months since LA Knight won the United States Championship from Logan Paul at WWE SummerSlam 2024. Since winning the title, Knight has defended it against all challengers on SmackDown and live shows.

In recent weeks, Knight has often found himself involved in the Andrade-Carmelo Hayes' rivalry. It started when Hayes attacked Knight backstage before his match against Andrade. This caused Knight to interfere in the match which helped Hayes pick up the win against Andrade.

Before tonight, both Andrade and Hayes had competed in six matches with the score tied at three wins a piece. To settle the score, a seventh match was announced, with LA Knight as the Special Guest Referee. Knight tried to be an impartial referee until Hayes accidentally kicked him in the face. This caused Knight to attack both Hayes and Andrade, ending the match in a No-Contest.

Following the match, Nick Aldis was visibly frustrated with Knight's actions and told him that he would defend his United States Championship against both Andrade and Carmelo Hayes at WWE Crown Jewel.

Considering LA Knight made enemies out of both Andrade and Hayes tonight, it will be interesting to see if he can retain his title at Crown Jewel.
