Nick Aldis reacts after hearing what Cody Rhodes allegedly still wants after becoming WWE Champion: "Dear God"
Nick Aldis has reacted to Cody Rhodes' alleged recent comments on Instagram. It appears that the GM was not quite ready to hear them.
As the SmackDown General Manager, Aldis regularly has his hands full with issues between stars that he needs to sort out in the middle of finalizing matches. However, he does not get too personal with the stars. When Stu Bennett, aka Wade Barrett, posted what Cody Rhodes apparently told him, he couldn't help but comment on the post.
Barrett took to Instagram to say he had congratulated Cody Rhodes by pointing out that he was the WWE Champion and the biggest wrestler in the world, and that all of his dreams had come true. Rhodes then apparently told Barrett that not all of his dreams had come true and that he wanted Preston North End to get promoted to the Premier League.
"I told @americannightmarecody: 'You are the @WWE Champion & the number 1 wrestler on the planet.. all of your dreams have come true!' His response: 'Not quite all, Wade. I still need to see @pnefcofficial promoted to the Premier League.' Top Lad."
On hearing this, Nick Aldis immediately commented, "Dear God." As an ardent follower of the Premier League, Aldis had some clear opinions about the matter.
Barrett is a well-known Preston North End fan, and it appears that it's something he desperately wants.
Cody Rhodes is set to defend his WWE title in a big match thanks to Nick Aldis
Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens are set to face each other in a WWE Championship match. Owens was not getting a shot, as Nick Aldis planned for a match for Roman Reigns now that he had returned to the company.
However, thanks to both Cody and Owens wanting the match, it was decided. The two of them will now face each other at Bash in Berlin 2024.
The last time Owens and Rhodes met in a singles match was on the April 18, 2022 episode of Monday Night RAW. Whether The Prizefighter can walk out of Bash in Berlin with the Undisputed WWE Championship remains to be seen.
