Nick Aldis could recruit the "coup of the century" ahead of Netflix debut, says WWE personality

Nick Aldis may be looking to make the best use of the situation owing to something that could adversely affect WWE SmackDown. Aldis could recruit the "coup of the century," according to Sam Roberts.

For years, Roman Reigns has been the brand's face, and now, Cody Rhodes is up there, too. In fact, these names are some of the major players in the industry itself, and they both perform on the blue brand. What could the sheriff do if Netflix wants The American Nightmare and The OTC on WWE RAW? The analyst feels that Gunther and Dominik Mysterio would be the replacements.

Speaking on Notsam Wrestling, Sam Roberts speculated that the 'transfer window', unlike the WWE Draft, could mean that Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes and World Heavyweight Champion Gunther end up switching brands. He believes Netflix can demand the cornerstone and the quarterback to be on the Monday night show:

"If the Transfer Window is open, who is to say Gunther and the World Heavyweight Title won't end up on SmackDown, while Cody Rhodes and the WWE Championship ends up on RAW. I wouldn't be shocked if Netflix went, 'Hey, we want Cody on Netflix. You want to build this global franchise, we want Cody over here, and we want Roman over here,'" Sam Roberts noted. Furthermore, the "coup of the century," as Roberts put it, would be Dominik Mysterio, who will be traded for Roman Reigns:

"When Bianca Belair was walking down the hallway, we look into the distance, and there was Dirty Daddy Dominik Mysterio meeting with Nick Aldis. Can you imagine if Nick Aldis were able to acquire the coup of the century?" [From 1:58 to 2:12]

Nick Aldis credits Dominik Mysterio for his successful introduction as WWE SmackDown's sheriff

In October 2023, Nick Aldis made his WWE debut. Triple H introduced him to the WWE Universe, and there were three other stars on the roster who were part of the segment: Adam Pearce, Dominik Mysterio, and Kevin Owens.

In a recent sit-down interview with Chris Van Vliet, Aldis praised "Dirty" Dom as a wonderful talent. Furthermore, he put over Mysterio's contribution to his first segment on the blue brand, where he took a dig at the young stalwart. The new General Manager immediately caught everybody's attention when he told Dominik that he was a big fan, then paused, before adding, "of your dad."

"I love working with Dom. Also, shout out to Dom, because he was so instrumental in my introduction as a character. I always make this point, I was introduced on WWE television in a Triple H in-ring segment," Aldis said.

Watch the segment Aldis was talking about below:

Meanwhile, it was noted by two wrestling veterans recently that the General Manager could end up stepping inside the squared circle at WrestleMania 41 to face Kevin Owens, the man he brought into SmackDown on the night he was appointed.
