Nick Aldis spoke highly of real-life Bloodline member and multi-time champion following WWE Draft 2024
After becoming WWE SmackDown's General Manager Nick Aldis made drastic changes to the brand in the past few months. After the first night of the Draft, he spoke highly of two of his newest acquisitions, real-life Bloodline member Nia Jax, and multi-time champion Carmelo Hayes.
The annual WWE Draft is moving superstars across all three brands as it aims to hit a reset on rivalries and storylines after WrestleMania. Both brands made some big acquisitions during the first night of the two-night event on Friday Night SmackDown.
The night saw several superstars joining or leaving the blue brand for the foreseeable future, heading into Backlash in France. Later, Nick Aldis spoke highly of Nia Jax and Carmelo Hayes after SmackDown picked these two stars during the event.
"I was already working with a world-class roster on #SmackDown, but I believe these key acquisitions create fresh new dynamics and raise the competition even more."
Both stars made an impact on their first night, as Hayes went one-on-one against Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes and Nia Jax attacked Bayley & Naomi.
Nick Aldis announced two blockbuster matches for WWE Backlash 2024
Last year, Triple H made a blockbuster announcement and brought back general managers for both SmackDown and RAW. Nick Aldis and Adam Pearce became the governing heads of their respective brands under the new regime.
However, Aldis is a stricter GM compared to Pearce on Monday Night RAW. Superstars have started to fear and respect the former NWA World Champion and abided by his rules during the weekly blue show.
During the annual Draft, Nick Aldis booked a huge tag team match which will see Kevin Owens and Randy Orton take on The Bloodline's Solo Sikoa and Tama Tonga at Backlash in France.
Elsewhere, after Nia Jax interrupted a number one contender's match, Aldis booked a Triple Threat match between Bayley, Naomi, and Tiffany Stratton for the WWE Women's Championship.
The second night of the Draft will occur on Monday Night RAW, and it will be interesting to see which stars will join Friday Night SmackDown under Nick Aldis' leadership.
