Nick Aldis surprisingly praises long-time adversary following WWE SNME

Nick Aldis surprisingly sent a heartfelt message to his long-time adversary following WWE Saturday Night's Main Event. The special event occurred last night at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum on Long Island, New York.

Chelsea Green defeated Bayley to advance to the final of the Women's United States Championship Tournament. She battled Michin (Mia Yim) for the title last night at Saturday Night's Main Event and Piper Niven was ringside for the match. Niven provided a distraction and Green was able to capitalize by hitting the UnPrettyHer on Yim to become the inaugural Women's United States Champion.

SmackDown General Manager and Chelsea Green are always getting in each other's faces and there is no love lost between them. Nick Aldis took to Instagram to surprisingly send a message to Green following her historic victory last night. The former NWA star noted that the 33-year-old maximized her minutes on TV and congratulated her on becoming champion.

"Maximize your minutes and run with whatever they give you. Here's the proof," wrote Aldis.

Green had never won a singles title before capturing the Women's United States Championship last night. Michin has still not won a title during her time as a WWE Superstar.

Former WWE writer reacts to Nick Aldis' segment with Drew McIntyre on SmackDown

Wrestling veteran Vince Russo recently shared his thoughts on Nick Aldis' confrontation with Drew McIntyre this past Friday night on SmackDown.

Drew McIntyre returned from his hiatus earlier this month and attacked Sami Zayn. The Scottish Warrior then took out Jimmy Uso with a Claymore on SmackDown, and Aldis noted that he had to do a bunch of paperwork following his attack. Speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestling's BroDown show available via Backstage Pass, Russo mocked the SmackDown GM's line about having to do paperwork and jokingly claimed that was why the altercation with Aldis and McIntyre didn't get physical.

"Are you asking me why didn't they do that? [Because] that would've meant more paperwork [chuckles]. I mean, bro, if he [Aldis] gotta do paperwork on Jimmy Uso, can you imagine if he gets attacked? He's gonna have so much paperwork he's gonna be there till Wednesday," he said. [07:34 onwards]

Chelsea Green and Nick Aldis have not gotten along on WWE SmackDown in the past. It will be interesting to see what WWE has planned for the Women's United States Champion following her historic victory at Saturday Night's Main Event.
