Nick Aldis trolls WWE Superstar in response to tweet storm

The life of a WWE General Manager can be stressful, as we've seen lately with Nick Aldis, Ava, and Adam Pearce. The NXT, RAW, and SmackDown authority figures are often singled out by certain superstars trying to get their way, but now Aldis is hitting back with some pre-showtime trolling of his own.

Nick Aldis brought Carmelo Hayes to SmackDown from NXT in the 2024 WWE Draft, selecting him as the blue brand's second pick and the third overall. He would eventually lose a nine-minute main event to Cody for a big pop and ovations from the crowd. Hayes has been a top SmackDown talent ever since.

The A-Champion of WWE approached Aldis last week for more opportunities and threatened to go to RAW for the Netflix premiere unless he starts feeling coveted by his General Manager. Aldis said he does have something special in mind for Hayes, which led to tonight's mystery opponent match. Carmelo later began tweeting dream match pitches while also sharing pitches from fans.

Hayes has endorsed potential matches against Penta El Zero Miedo, James Ellsworth, Rey Mysterio, Monty Brown, Maven, The Amazing Red, and Seth Rollins in the last week. The last pitch came before SmackDown and was for a match against The Visionary.

Aldis took to X today ahead of SmackDown and trolled Hayes for his tweet storm of match ideas. He included a GIF of Sideshow Bob stepping on yard rakes from The Simpsons.

"Me trying to read my mentions whilst avoiding @Carmelo_WWE wishlist," Nick Aldis wrote with the GIF below.

Aldis seems to be dealing with the Hayes situation with a level head. Hayes is also confident and amused while preparing for tonight's SmackDown mystery opponent, who is rumored to be a new member of the main roster.

In addition to Hayes vs. a mystery man, WWE has also announced the following for tonight's loaded live SmackDown episode from the XL Center in Hartford, CT: Solo Sikoa vs. LA Knight, Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens will have the final word before SNME, plus Michin vs. Tiffany Stratton and Bayley vs. Chelsea Green semi-finals matches in the tournament to crown the inaugural Women's United States Champion.
