"Not sure yet" - Triple H had no idea what massive WWE star was going to do at WrestleMania XL

WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H had a tough task ahead of him after massive WrestleMania XL plans were changed. The Game had to tell Cody Rhodes that he didn't know what he was going to do at The Show of Shows.

The American Nightmare had been working his way towards getting another title shot in the main event of WrestleMania for an entire year. WWE itself had planned to have a rematch between Cody and Roman Reigns at this year's Show of Shows. However, things suddenly changed following The Rock's big return, and Cody gave up his 'Mania spot.

In the WrestleMania XL: Behind the Curtain documentary, WWE CCO Triple H revealed that Cody asked him what was in store for him at The Showcase of the Immortals after the big change. The Game had no answer to the question and told him the following:

"Not sure yet."

Triple H and Cody Rhodes have a lot of history together

Back in 2016, Cody Rhodes left WWE after realizing that he wasn't being utilized to his fullest potential. Rhodes' decision didn't sit well with The Game.

In an interview with Bleacher Report, The American Nightmare revealed that the veteran expressed his displeasure over the decision.

"Hunter [Triple H] took it very personally because he had done so much for my dad at NXT. There was one conversation where he said, 'I'm shocked that you feel this way after everything I've done for your family.' But I told him, 'I'm not my dad. I can't stay here out of loyalty to you for giving my dad a job in 2005. I get it, and the little boy in me really appreciates what you did for my dad. But I'm not him. He's not here anymore. I've got to be me.'" [H/T Bleacher Report]

Cody made his big WWE return in 2022 and defeated Seth Rollins in a WrestleMania encounter. Two years later, he won his first world title at The Grandest Stage of Them All.
