"Now I struggle more than ever" - WWE star sends heartbreaking message; discusses 'pit in the bottom of his heart'

A popular WWE Superstar has sent a heartbreaking message today. He discussed his struggles after failing to qualify for a major match.

During the December 3 episode of the black and silver brand, Lexis King locked horns with Axiom, Cedric Alexander, and Eddy Thorpe in a Fatal Four Way qualifying match for the Men's Iron Survivor Challenge. However, King failed to capitalize on this opportunity as the bout ultimately ended in Thorpe's favor.

During NXT Deadline, King was shown in a vignette. In the promo, the 31-year-old WWE Superstar talked about failing to qualify for the Iron Survivor Challenge. He also mentioned that despite not being on the Deadline match card, he was out there in Minneapolis to talk about his struggles growing up as a kid.

"I didn't qualify for the Iron Survivor Challenge. I'm not even on the Deadline card. Yet here I am in freezing cold Minneapolis. Why are you here King? What are you doing here? I'm here because this city has a place in my heart. Not a special place, not a feel-good one. But a pit in the bottom of my heart. Because this is the place, this is the city where my life would change forever. This is the place where I will be left out on the side of the road in the freezing cold. With no one to look up to for guidance. No role models to speak up. Yet here I am all these years later," he said.

The WWE NXT Superstar added that he had no role models to look up to, before mentioning that he would surpass his father, the late great Brian Pillman's legacy.

"You probably think I'm chasing ghosts but I'm not. I'm doing the opposite. I'm trying to prove to everyone, each and every day that I wake up, that I'm not the same, I'm different. And I'm going to exceed beyond anything he ever did. But yet now I struggle more than ever. I struggle to change his perception about myself. I struggle more than I ever did growing up alone. But you know what? It's a fight worth fighting for. It's worth it to be out here and feel that cold chill on my skin. Because nothing feels better than that warm air of satisfaction," he added.
