Oba Femi makes massive request from Triple H; warns WWE against "the fear of the unknown"
Oba Femi has become a notable WWE Superstar in a short amount of time under Triple H’s regime. The former NXT North American Champion recently made a massive request from the company.
Femi recently lost his first match in WWE at the hands of Tony D’Angelo. However, the loss will likely not dent his image much as he is set to take the next step in his career.
Meanwhile, Triple H has explored many new markets for the company after taking over creative control. Fans have seen PLEs in France, Germany, and Puerto Rico among other international markets in recent months.
The former NXT North American Champion was a guest on the Going Ringside podcast. During the show, Oba Femi stated that he would like to see WWE take PLEs to Africa and explore new markets without fearing the unknown.
"I would love to see a PLE in Africa. I feel there is a market there that has been unexplored for years. We have had live shows go to South African, but it’s much bigger than just South Africa. I feel the entire continent is riding hard for WWE. Once we tap into that market it’s going to be unbelievable. It’s not going to be an easy thing to do because there is going to be a culture shock, the fear of the unknown, and all these other factors, but once we can weather that storm and reach that market, oh my God, I’m talking one of the hottest crowds the company has ever seen. They would go ballistic for their king [referring to himself], but they would go ballistic for everything for the product," the NXT star said.
Oba Femi added that he was gaining respect in the company and would wait for the right time to use his position to influence Triple H and other decision-makers to take the step.
"Once I gain the equity, the respect, and credibility to bring up such a topic, I will." (H/T Fightful)
Triple H could give the former Oba Femi what he wants in the coming years. Many WWE fans in the international market have The Game to thank for seeing their favorite superstars live in PLEs in recent years.
Triple H could make a new Evolution in WWE with Oba Femi
Drew McIntyre revealed he was open to the idea of making an Evolution-esque faction in WWE. He recently picked a few names of stars he could recruit for the group.
In a message likely sent to Triple H, The Scottish Warrior named Oba Femi as one of the three superstars who would be perfect for the group. Here is what he said:
"Good question. Oba Femi and Bron Breakker, these two guys are studs, and I see big futures for them, if given the opportunity I would love to mentor them. Sheamus can do the Ric Flair role as he’s so old."
While the idea of getting another Evolution is far-fetched, it would be great to see a faction with these four men. They could dominate any roster they perform on.
