Oba Femi picked by WWE champion for a bar fight
Given WWE Superstar Oba Femi's imposing physique, it's no surprise that he would be a popular choice for real-life challenges. Recently, NXT Champion Trick Williams even named The Ruler as one of his picks for a bar fight.
In January 2024, Femi defeated Dragon Lee to capture the NXT North American Title. The 26-year-old former track and field player successfully defended his championship against Dijak, Josh Briggs, Wes Lee, and several others.
The Ruler surpassed Lee's title record and became the longest-reigning North American Champion before losing it to Tony D'Angelo on the October 8, 2024 edition of the white-and-silver brand.
In an interview with O'Shea Jackson Jr. and TJ Jefferson on the No-Contest Wrestling podcast, The Anointed One was asked to name four other WWE NXT stars he'd want to have his back in a bar fight.
Trick Williams picked Oba Femi, Tony D'Angelo, Je'Von Evans, and Lexis King in a hypothetical bar fight:
"We want Oba Femi on my side, we need The Ruler. Got to get Tony D' [Angelo] in there. He is solid. People don't know he had a whole wrestling background, a whole another life before this; he can throw down. [sic] Let me bring The Young OG; he's jumping off [people in the bar]. He's the Spider-Man to our Avengers team. We got Je'Von Evans on the team. Give me Lexis King. I'll tell you why. However, as much the people hate me, I know they hate him way more." Trick Williams says he is looking forward to facing top WWE Superstar
The Anointed One is set to defend his WWE NXT Title against Ridge Holland at the Deadline Premium Live Event on December 7, 2024. Meanwhile, Williams addressed stepping in the ring with a main roster superstar.
During the same interaction with O'Shea Jackson Jr. and TJ Jefferson on the No-Contest Wrestling podcast, Trick Williams mentioned he would like to face Gunther, the reigning WWE World Heavyweight Champion.
"The one who I think, I'll have the best feud with, a styles-clash; I like Gunther. I hope we get to see each other [in the ring]. I think he has what it takes to bring out a side of Trick Williams that people haven't really seen before. So, I'm looking forward to that day," he said.
It remains to be seen if fans will witness a match between The Ring General and Williams in the near future.
