"Okay, I'm down 100%" - Rhea Ripley reveals what convinced her to join The Judgment Day in the first place
Rhea Ripley has commented on what convinced her to join The Judgment Day with Edge and Damian Priest. She stated that a current WWE RAW star was a big factor in her decision to accept the offer.
The villainous faction was founded by The Rated-R Superstar after he turned heel during his feud with AJ Styles in 2022. The Archer of Infamy was the first person that the WWE Hall of Famer recruited, and Mami was the first female and third overall group member. Today, none of them are in it, as all three of them got kicked out.
During a recent appearance on The Wrestling Classic, Rhea Ripley stated that when she heard Damian Priest was going to be a part of The Judgment Day, it made the decision to join very easy for her.
"I started talking to him and we found out that we had so much in common. We loved the same sort of music, the same sort of style, I don't know, we just bonded over a whole bunch of stuff and he's a goofy dude. As much as he doesn't like to say it, he's a goofy dude and I'm pretty goofy too. We're just two goofballs together (...) When Edge came to me talking about The Judgment Day, knowing that Priest was in it was pretty much like a solid choice for me. I was like okay, I'm down 100%," said Rhea Ripley. [5:05 - 5:52]
Rhea Ripley says she cried backstage when The Judgment Day turned on her and Damian Priest
SummerSlam was a very unfortunate show for The Terror Twins. Dominik Mysterio betrayed Mami while Finn Balor turned on Damian Priest.
Rhea Ripley admitted elsewhere in the interview that she cried backstage after the betrayal.
"The Judgment Day was really family to me, like, it really was. It helped my career so much more than I can actually put into words. I feel like that's when I started opening up and feeling comfortable going out there in front of the crowd because I had the boys that I could fall back on. It was really emotional for me. I saw something come out about The Judgment Day members, a specific one, crying backstage after everything, and I'm not ashamed of it; that was me," Ripley said.
Rhea Ripley is set to collide with Liv Morgan for the Women's World Championship at WWE Bad Blood next month.
