Omos details unfortunate experience that comes with being a WWE Superstar
Omos is WWE's tallest Superstar on the roster right now. Despite a lengthy hiatus, the 7-foot-3-inch grappler remains a hot topic of discussion among fans speculating on what might be in the works. Omos himself is keeping relevant and now opening up on one annoying aspect of the job.
The Nigerian Giant has an impressive WWE record with 125 wins out of 174 matches. He has not wrestled since the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal during WrestleMania XL Weekend, which came after 14 non-televised wins over Odyssey Jones and Akira Tozawa, the 2024 Royal Rumble, and six more live event wins over Tozawa to roll 2024 back.
MVP shared footage of Omos struggling on a flight back in December, and the video went a bit viral. Speaking to Adrian Hernandez in a new interview, the 30-year-old was asked how often interactions like these happen in Omos's daily life.
"That happens quite frequently, especially when I'm going from, like, flying out of smaller airports, that tends to happen quite a number of times, yes," Omos said. [From 0:21 to 0:29]
Omos was then asked if he buys two seats or uses some other hack to make life as good as it can be while on a flight. The former RAW Tag Team Champion touched on how lucky he is when it comes to travel.
"I'm lucky enough that I get to fly first class, which is funny enough because that video that went viral, I was flying first class, that's to show people how large of a human being I am. You know that I am flying first class, and I make the aircraft look small. So, yeah... it's just the story of my life," Omos said. [From 0:37 to 0:50]
Omos signed his WWE developmental contract on January 1, 2019, with no pro wrestling experience. The former college basketball player made his in-ring debut on July 18, 2019. He is a one-time RAW Tag Team Champion with AJ Styles, and the winner of The Rock's 25th Anniversary Battle Royal at Survivor Series 2021.
Bobby Lashley's surprising remarks on Omos and WWE
Bobby Lashley and Omos worked together almost two dozen times in WWE. They teamed up several times and did battle even more, including Lashley's win at WrestleMania 38 and Lashley's Hell in a Cell 2022 win over Omos and MVP.
Lashley recently left WWE and is now with AEW, but he made very interesting comments about Omos' WWE future on TV during a K&S Wrestlefest virtual signing.
"I think he should be [back on TV]. Unfortunately... I don't know. I don't know, with the way that things have changed, I don't see him having that opportunity. I hope that me saying that gives him that opportunity, but a lot of people haven't had that opportunity, and a lot of people kind of went separate ways with them. So, I don't know what is going on right now... there's a lot of really good talent that left," Bobby Lashley said.
Omos' only win over Lashley came at WrestleMania Backlash 2022. The last time they teamed up was at Extreme Rules 2021, where they joined AJ Styles for a trios loss to The New Day.
