One reason could stop Drew McIntyre from appearing in top promotion after quitting WWE, says veteran

Drew McIntyre seemingly has had enough in WWE after CM Punk cost him another World Heavyweight Championship shot at Clash at the Castle. While rumors suggested he could show up in Total Nonstop Action, wrestling veteran and TNA color commentator Matthew Rehwoldt (fka Aiden English) thinks one thing could prevent that.

Last Monday on RAW, The Scottish Warrior headed to the ring to deliver a promo. However, he shockingly 'quit' the Stamford-based company. As McIntyre went backstage, RAW general manager Adam Pearce and Chief Content Officer Triple H spoke to him, seemingly trying to convince him not to leave.

Meanwhile, some fans and experts suggested the former World Heavyweight Champion could show up in TNA since the promotion currently has a working relationship with WWE.

On the Rebooked podcast, Rehwoldt explained that McIntyre might not appear in TNA Wrestling because the promotion would not have a live event until July 2024.

"That would be (...) Well, but here's my only thing. We don't have (...) you would only do that if it's live. We have tapings next week. But you're not gonna have him show up at a taped event that goes out online, right? You'd have him show up live, which wouldn't be till the end of July. So, they're not gonna wait that long. They'll have him (...) I'm sure come back on TV," he said. [45:43 - 46:04]

A WWE SmackDown star wants to team up with Drew McIntyre in a mixed-tag team match in TNA

Following his release from WWE in 2014, Drew McIntyre had a three-year run in TNA, where he held the World Heavyweight Championship. Current SmackDown star Chelsea Green also competed for multiple years in the promotion.

In a recent interview with Cultaholic, Green expressed her desire to team up with The Scottish Warrior to square off against her husband, Matt Cardona, and Steph De Lander in TNA.

"Well, here's the thing, I'll always love to take on my little demon Rosemary, but I also wouldn't mind seeing my husband Matt Cardona and Steph De Lander take on me and, I'm not sure yet. I'm not sure what man (...) I find them very annoying and smelly and sweaty. Maybe Drew [McIntyre]. I can take Drew because Drew was former TNA, former IMPACT guy. So that could work," she said.

A wrestling veteran also addressed the possibility of McIntyre going head-to-head against TNA World Champion Moose, with CM Punk interfering to cost him the match. It would be interesting to see whether the scenario plays out.
