Only one Logan Paul vs. LA Knight outcome makes sense, WWE veteran claims (Exclusive)

LA Knight will challenge Logan Paul for the United States Championship at WWE SummerSlam on August 3. Vince Russo, WWE's head writer in the late 1990s, recently gave his thoughts on the possible match outcome.

Paul has held the United States Championship since defeating Rey Mysterio at Crown Jewel in November 2023. The 29-year-old has received praise for his in-ring performances over the last two years. However, many fans dislike the fact he has only defended the title twice.

On Sportskeeda Wrestling's Writing With Russo, Russo explained to host Dr. Chris Featherstone why Paul must retain in his hometown of Cleveland:

"Oh, bro, you gotta keep the title on Logan Paul. I think so, bro. I mean, he's really the only heel with real heat. I would definitely, definitely [keep the title on Paul]. You need the crossover, bro. I would definitely keep the belt on him." [1:51 – 2:09]

Another reason why Vince Russo thinks Logan Paul must beat LA Knight

While some wrestlers are regularly involved in the title picture, others wait years before finally receiving an opportunity to hold some gold.

In LA Knight's case, Vince Russo thinks The Megastar is already established as a fan favorite and he does not need a championship:

"Why you gonna take the belt off Logan Paul? As long as LA Knight does his schtick and the LA Knight gimmick, he's gonna be over and he's gonna be fine. Why would you put a belt on him?" [2:51 – 3:05]

LA Knight previously held the Million Dollar Championship in NXT and the Impact World Championship in TNA. He has not yet won a title since moving to WWE's main roster in 2022.
