Otis shares update following WWE RAW; turns his back on “family”

WWE teased Alpha Academy's implosion for weeks leading to Clash at the Castle, and it appears the collapse has finally arrived: Otis snapped. This week's episode of RAW featured a post-match segment between the faction members in the ring.

Chad Gable had just lost a match to Braun Strowman, and he decided to take out his anger on Akira Tozawa. First Maxxine intervened, and then Otis followed. The former Money in the Bank winner ultimately shoved away Master Gable and the entire faction walked out on him.

Taking to Instagram, Otis shared a recap of the events that transpired on the red brand this week. While the crowd has clearly jumped on the bandwagon, it is unclear as of this writing if this is truly the end of Alpha Academy.

As for Otis, he still cares for his friends, which makes him an incredibly lovable character. Perhaps Chad Gable will move on to something else now. The possibilities are limitless.

Former WWE star did not like Otis making out with his wife on-screen

Otis is once again one of the most popular acts on WWE television. The last time he was this over with the crowd was when he was part of a romantic angle with Mandy Rose. The 'will they or won't they' story is a tried and tested trope in storytelling, and it worked seamlessly for these two, even though it culminated during the pandemic with no fans in attendance.

At WrestleMania 36, Mandy Rose rushed to Otis' aid and, after the latter secured the win over Dolph Ziggler—who played the antagonist in the narrative—the two k**sed for the first time on-screen. WWE continued this storyline for some more time after the event. During a recent episode of the Power Alphas podcast, her real-life fiance and former NXT star Tino Sabbatelli opened up about it.

Sabbatelli clarified that he is not the jealous type and that for all his life he was never that guy, but then admitted that his fiancee ki** Otis is not something he particularly enjoyed watching:

"I didn't like watching you ki** him," he said.

It remains to be seen what is next for Otis on WWE television. While he won the 2020 Money in the Bank contract, he lost the briefcase to The Miz later that year. Much like Chad Gable, Otis has also never won a singles title in the company.
