Paul Heyman was behind WWE contacting 61-year-old legend; talks potential Hall of Fame induction

Paul Heyman's WWE Hall of Fame induction was a noteworthy event in itself, a night prior to WrestleMania XL. Several ECW legends were present for the ceremony, including Allen Ray Sarven, better known by his ring name, Al Snow.

With Royal Rumble set to begin in mere weeks, Al Snow was asked about a potential in-ring return, even if for one night only. Many legends have done it over the years at the titular battle royal. The veteran had also worked for WWE (fka WWF) between 1995 to 1997, and again from 1998 to 2008. On that note, a Hall of Fame induction was also brought up.

In an interview with Jofo In The Ring, Al Snow said that WWE invited him to WrestleMania XL in April because of Paul Heyman. He added that while he hoped "they extend that kindness again," he was skeptical about an appearance on the Road To WrestleMania 41, whether it was for an in-ring return or for a Hall of Fame induction.

"Oh, I'd be open to it, but I doubt it," said Al Snow regarding a WWE Hall of Fame induction. "They invited me this past WrestleMania in Philadelphia because of Paul [Heyman] being inducted and all that. I hope they extend that kindness again and, to get to be part of a WrestleMania as a guest. It was a great blast, really, truly an honor, very flattered," he added. [From 1:39 to 2:02]

Al Snow also said that a WWE Legends contract was something he'd be interested in at this point, but noted that he had not been approached yet. Be that as it may, the 61-year-old added that it was not out of the question and that apart from Paul Heyman he was still in touch with some of the people in the Stamford-based promotion.

Is Paul Heyman and The Rock going to form an alliance next year?

Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson's status for WrestleMania 41 is up in the air as of this writing. But several sources within the company have assured that whether he gets added to the match card or not, Johnson was going to be involved in some form or fashion.

Meanwhile, Paul Heyman returned to WWE SmackDown a few weeks ago, with CM Punk, once again siding with Roman Reigns. The Wiseman owes Punk a favor as a result of the former AEW World Champion assisting the OTC and his allies to fend off The Bloodline.

It appears the word on the rumor mill is that Paul Heyman and The Rock will be joining forces in time for WrestleMania 41. However, the manner or capacity of this possible alliance is not known.

The Final Boss pinned Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania XL and also proclaimed that when he returned to the ring, it would be for The American Nightmare and the Undisputed WWE Championship. However, in recent weeks, the possibility of the legend facing Roman Reigns at The upcoming Show of Shows has not been ruled out either.
