The Final Boss played a major role at The Grandest Stage of Them All. On Night One, he teamed up with Roman Reigns for a victory over Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins. The following night, he interfered during the rematch between Reigns and Rhodes but was chokeslammed by The Undertaker.

On Instagram, The Rock sent a message to Paul ahead of his fight with Mike Tyson.

"Good to finally meet you brother at #WrestleMania Looking forward to your fight with the GOAT. As we briefly chatted, you wouldn’t want it any other way. Can’t wait to watch. @jakepaul @miketyson," wrote The Rock.

The Rock made a historic in-ring return at WrestleMania 40

WrestleMania 40 was historic for many reasons, The Rock being one of them. At this year's show, The People's Champion competed in his first official match since beating Erick Rowan at WrestleMania 32 in 2016.

On the first night, he teamed up with Roman Reigns and secured the victory for The Bloodline, as he pinned Cody Rhodes. Midway through the match, though, The Rock was accidentally speared by Reigns.

Following The Bloodline's victory on Night One, Rhodes was forced to challenge Reigns under "Bloodline Rules" on Night Two. Rhodes walked out the new champion despite the faction's best attempts to sabotage The American Nightmare's chances of winning the contest.

On the RAW after WrestleMania 40, The Rock announced his temporary departure from the company, ending a historic run. On his way out, he teased a match against Rhodes.
