[PHOTO] Unmasked Rey Mysterio reunites with Kurt Angle & WWE Hall of Famer
Rey Mysterio and Kurt Angle have a long history together. Apart from just being in the same match at WrestleMania 22, they were a part of the legendary SmackDown Six era. In an Instagram post, they also seemingly reunited with a WWE Hall of Famer.
Kurt Angle, as you know, has been done with his career for over five years now. It seems like he has no interest in getting back in the ring. Rey Mysterio, meanwhile, continues to build his legacy despite starting his career years before Angle did.
WWE Hall of Famer The Great Khali posted a photo alongside and unmasked Mysterio and legend Kurt Angle. It's unclear whether this was a recent reunion or an old photo:
Khali also made his name on SmackDown and crossed paths with Rey Mysterio in WWE before.
Dominik Mysterio took a shot at his father's only reign as WWE Champion.
Nowadays, Rey Mysterio seems to be more associated with his son Dominik. In terms of singles matches, Rey is 2-0. However, Dominik recently pinned his father for the first time in a Mixed Tag Team match also involving Zelina Vega and Liv Morgan.
In an interview with ESPN Dayton, Dominik Mysterio said his goal is to hold the WWE Championship for longer than 30 minutes. This was a direct shot at his father, who won the title on RAW in 2011 following CM Punk's "exit", only to lose it back to John Cena the same night:
“I think it’s pretty special because my deadbeat [dad] ended up holding the World Title two times. Then, he ended up winning the WWE Title just once, for, I believe, it was maybe 30 minutes, and then Cena came back and took it from him. So, I think right now, I would love to beat his 30-minute record of WWE Champion. So I think the WWE Undisputed Title that Cody currently has; it has Mysterio history written all over it," he said.
Mysterio's World Championship reigns were usually short and transitional. His first title run post-WrestleMania 22 fell victim to backstage politics and he was hardly given a run with the title before losing it to Booker T.
His second reign proved to be another transitional one as he was immediately cashed in on by Money in the Bank winner Kane.
