Piper Niven shared subtle tribute to released star at WWE Crown Jewel

Piper Niven shared on social media today that she paid a subtle tribute to a recently released WWE Superstar. The veteran competed alongside Chelsea Green in the Fatal Four-Way Tag Team Match for the Women's Tag Team Championship Crown Jewel 2024.

Indi Hartwell and Tegan Nox were released from their contracts by the company this past Friday ahead of SmackDown. Baron Corbin's time in the promotion also came to an end, as the company elected not to renew The Lone Wolf's contract.

Niven took to social media today to react to a wrestling fan who noted that she spotted the former Women's Tag Team Champion paying a subtle tribute to Tegan Nox by doing her pose at Crown Jewel. The 33-year-old reacted to the fan's message and referred to Nox as her "road wife."

"Road wife’s 4 life 💜💖 @TeganNoxWWE," she wrote.

Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair defeated Niven and Green, Damage CTRL, and Lash Legend and Jakara Jackson at Crown Jewel to retain their Women's Tag Team Championship.

Cargill took to social media ahead of tonight's episode of RAW and suggested that the popular duo was unstoppable following their impressive victory at Crown Jewel.

Wrestling veteran urges WWE to push Piper Niven on SmackDown

Wrestling legend Vince Russo recently urged WWE to do more with Piper Niven on SmackDown.

Speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestling's BroDown show on Backstage Pass, the veteran reacted to Piper's loss to Lash Legend on the October 18 edition of the blue brand. Russo wondered why the 33-year-old was jobbing to everyone on the main roster and suggested the company should push Niven because she has personality.

"I don't know what Piper Niven jobs to everybody. I have no idea. I wish I was writing for Piper Niven. With what they've given her, you can see personality there. This girl has personality; you gotta feed her. You gotta give her material. This is the biggest issue I have with that," he said.

Piper Niven and Chelsea Green were previously the Women's Tag Team Champions but were dethroned by Kayden Carter and Katana Chance in December 2023. It will be interesting to see if Niven and Green get another opportunity at the titles anytime soon following their loss at Crown Jewel over the weekend.
