Popular Bloodline member has lost his edge, according to wrestling veteran (Exclusive)
Legendary wrestling journalist Bill Apter recently spoke about The Bloodline. The faction came out to respond to Cody Rhodes during the opening segment of WWE SmackDown this week.
Cody kicked off the show this week but soon found himself face-to-face with Solo Sikoa. The self-proclaimed Tribal Chief challenged The American Nightmare to a championship match. However, the reigning Undisputed WWE Champion claimed Jacob Fatu was probably more deserving. The Bloodline tried to mount a four-on-one attack on Rhodes before the Street Profits and #DIY came to even the odds.
This week on Smack Talk, Apter pointed out that Solo Sikoa was a savage heel during the start of the latter's WWE tenure. However, the journalist claimed The Street Champ was a stark contrast now with his suit and well-poised demeanor. The 78-year-old claimed Jacob Fatu was now gradually taking over as the dangerous, old-school heel in the faction.
"What kinda gets me is that Solo Sikoa, when he first started off in WWE, had those maniacal type of tendencies. Tonight, here, he is in a suit, looking like a wonderful college kid, well spoken, and perfectly poised. I just think that fear that he had about him for such a long time has cooled off quite a bit. The fans really are afraid of Jacob Fatu. He's got all the ingredients of an old-school bad guy," he said. [From 5:51 onwards]
Meanwhile, SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis announced last night that Cody Rhodes would defend the Undisputed WWE Championship against Solo Sikoa next week on SmackDown.
To keep The Bloodline at bay, Aldis also mentioned that it would be a Steel Cage Match. It will be interesting to see if The American Nightmare retains his gold next week.
