Popular SmackDown star calls out WWE for not booking her against major rival

A popular WWE SmackDown star called out the company today on social media for not booking a match against her major rival. The star in question has not competed on WWE television since the July 5, episode of the blue brand.

Former Women's Tag Team Champion, Piper Niven, took to social media today to send a message to WWE for not booking her against Alba Fyre. The two stars had a rivalry before joining the Stamford-based promotion and competed against each other a few times when Alba Fyre was known as Kay Lee Ray in NXT UK.

A fan asked Piper Niven on social media why she hadn't faced Fyre yet, and the veteran humorously claimed the company was worried the world would implode considering the banger their match would be. She did acknowledge that she would welcome the opportunity should it arise.

"Not sure why it hasn’t happened yet tbh 🤔 My only hypothesis is that it would be such a banger that the world as we know it would implode under its bangerocity and that’s why they been keeping us apart. But it’s a risk I’m willing to take," wrote Piper Niven.

Former WWE manager comments on The Unholy Union

Wrestling veteran, Dutch Mantell, recently suggested that The Unholy Union (Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn) were missing something on WWE television.

The team lost the Women's Tag Team Championship to Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair at Bash in Berlin on August 31. Speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestling's Smack Talk show, Mantell suggested that The Unholy Union was lacking personality. The veteran noted that a lot of people did not see their work in NXT, and the duo needed to do more to get over with the fans on the main roster.

"They are missing something. Like personality. [....] It's not what they did in NXT cause I didn't see that. A lot of people don't watch that, I'm sure. But watching them, they've got to get over now. They are not in NXT, they're in WWE so that's your field of play. So they need to get over," he said. [From 30:55 onwards]

The Unholy Union became the number-one contender for the Women's Tag Team Championship by defeating Damage CTRL's IYO SKY and Kairi Sane last week on RAW. The duo will be challenging Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair for the titles tomorrow night on the red brand.
