Popular star seemingly confirms he re-signed with WWE
A popular WWE Superstar seemingly confirmed he had signed a new deal with the promotion. The star in question has not competed in a match since the July 30 edition of WWE NXT.
It was recently reported by Fightful Select that Cedric Alexander had reached a new deal with the promotion. Sean Ross Sapp noted that the former champion actually signed the contract earlier this year. Alexander is a former RAW Tag Team, Cruiserweight, and 24/7 Champion.
The veteran took to his Instagram story to seemingly confirm the reports of him re-signing with the company, and you can check out the post by clicking here.
Cedric Alexander was also a part of the popular Hurt Business faction alongside MVP, Bobby Lashley, and Shelton Benjamin. MVP and Bobby Lashley were both recently removed from WWE's internal roster, and Shelton Benjamin was released by the company last year.
Former WWE star hints at potential Hurt Business reunion
MVP (Montel Vontavious Porter) recently detailed why The Hurt Business was disbanded and hinted at the possibility of the group reuniting outside the promotion.
The 50-year-old made a surprise appearance at GCW Bloodsport XI in July and challenged Josh Barnett to a match. He noted that he was not going to be returning to the company during his GCW appearance earlier this year.
During a K&S WrestleFest virtual signing, the former United States Champion revealed it was the promotion's decision to end The Hurt Business. However, he instructed fans to stay tuned and noted that he has been talking with Alexander and Lashley about what they want to do moving forward in the world of professional wrestling.
"The Hurt Business is dead and it was killed off by the powers that be. Myself, Bobby Lashley, and Shelton Benjamin are talking amongst ourselves about what we want to do going forward. Stay tuned," said MVP. [H/T - Fightful]
Cedric Alexander has not wrestled on WWE television in 40 days. It will be interesting to see when the 35-year-old returns to television and if The Hurt Business will reunite outside the company down the line.
