Popular star set to miss WWE SmackDown

A popular WWE star will not be attending tonight's episode of SmackDown. Tonight's show will be airing live from the KFC Yum! Center in Louisville, Kentucky.

Kayla Braxton is a former host of WWE's The Bump and now serves as a backstage interviewer on the blue brand. She celebrated her 33rd birthday and has disclosed that she will not be appearing on tonight's episode of SmackDown.

Braxton took to her X account (formerly Twitter) to share an update before tonight's show and explained why she would not be there. She noted she will be missing the show not because of her birthday, but to celebrate her sister getting married:

"Thnx for all the bday wishes!!Yall know how to make a gal feel special. I’ll be missing Smackdown tonight - but not to celebrate my bday but to celebrate my sister getting married!! I guess that’s a pretty good bday gift. Anyway - I’ll miss you guys but I’ll see you soon!! 😘 🎉," she wrote.

Kayla Braxton recently changed her handle on X to "kylabecker_tv and it led to speculation that she could be leaving the company. However, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful has confirmed that she is still with the promotion following the name change.

WWE veteran comments on how The Bloodline are booked on SmackDown

A former WWE manager has recently shared his thoughts on how The Bloodline are booked on SmackDown.

Wrestling veteran Dutch Mantell shared his thoughts on The Bloodline on Sportskeeda Wrestling's Smack Talk show. Kevin Owens and Paul Heyman had a confrontation on last week's edition of the blue brand. Mantell stated he enjoyed the segment and SmackDown was an entertaining show overall last week:

"When you get two good talkers that have a little bit of story already, they executed that well. I think the match was a little long but it accomplished what they set out to do. It was a good night for WWE tonight, all the way around," the legend said. [From 1:00:59 onwards]
