Popular tag team has eyes on The Bloodline's WWE Tag Team Championship
WWE SummerSlam was a turning point for The Bloodline as Roman Reigns made his grand return to the company after four months of hiatus. Elsewhere on SmackDown, it looks like The Street Profits have their eyes on the Tag Team Gold.
Street Profits is one of the most popular and notable teams in the Stamford-based promotion. Lately, Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford have been struggling to acquire gold in the company.
In an interview with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, Montez Ford and Angelo Daekins expressed their interest in going after gold. The duo are currently on Friday Night SmackDown and have their eyes on the WWE Tag Team Championship.
“Any time you get to call yourself a WWE champion, you know that you are at the top of your profession (...) The chemistry that we have is off the charts, and when, not if, we get ahold of the WWE tag team titles, they will be ours for a long time,” Ford said. [H/T: SI]
The Bloodline defeated Street Profits on WWE SmackDown
Street Profits are no strangers to The Bloodline as they have previously crossed paths with Roman Reigns, Jey Uso, and Jimmy Uso on Friday Night SmackDown. However, the tide has turned and Solo Sikoa's faction has different members.
Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa started strong in the tag team division and earned the right to compete in a number one contender's gauntlet match for DIY's Tag Team Championship.
However, it was Street Profits, who dominated the gauntlet and ran through the competition before making it to the last round. Due to Loa's eye injury, he was replaced by Jacob Fatu in the match.
The outcome of the bout would have been different had The Samoan Werewolf not replaced the injured star. The Profits seemingly have unfinished business with Solo Sikoa's Bloodline and the two teams might eventually share the ring again soon.
