Popular theory about why Roman Reigns failed to reach Paul Heyman has major problems, says WWE analyst
As Roman Reigns failed to reach Paul Heyman when he called the 59-year-old on WWE SmackDown, many suggested it could be because Solo Sikoa smashed The Wiseman's phone several months ago. However, WWE analyst Sam Roberts pointed out several problems with that theory.
On the first SmackDown after WrestleMania XL, Solo Sikoa smashed The Wiseman's phone when Heyman attempted to call the Original Tribal Chief following The Street Champ and Tama Tonga's attack on Jimmy Uso. On his Notsam Wrestling podcast, Roberts did not rule out that that incident could be why Reigns lost communication with Heyman.
The 41-year-old stated that while the proposed theory was possible, some pieces did not connect. He pointed out several problems with that proposed theory. Roberts questioned why didn't The Wiseman get a new phone.
"I do have some problems with this theory. Number one, that means that Paul Heyman has theoretically been paying a bill to Verizon for months for a phone that doesn't work. He didn't replace the phone? He didn't have Apple Care on it? He can't just buy a new phone? He's The Wiseman. He's not making the kinda money where you could just go to the Apple Store and plop down another G for an iPhone? No? I would've thought he got another iPhone," he said.
The RAW Talk host was not convinced that Heyman had changed his number after having his phone smashed or that the veteran didn't have his ''contacts backed up.''
"And also, you mean to tell me he doesn't have his contacts backed up? You mean to tell me that Paul Heyman hasn't, at the very least, backed up his contacts onto a computer? But I would think Paul Heyman's got iCloud. He only had Roman Reigns' number on that one phone? I can't imagine that. And if he did get a new phone, he changed his number?" [14:58-15:45]
When will Paul Heyman return to WWE TV?
In an interview with Sam Roberts earlier this year, WWE Hall of Famer Paul Heyman addressed when he would return to television. The legendary manager told Roberts that he would return when the storyline needed him.
Heyman has been off WWE TV since June 2024 after Solo Sikoa's Bloodline took him out when he refused to acknowledge the former NXT North American Champion as his Tribal Chief.
In a recent episode of his Notsam Wrestling podcast, Sam Roberts predicted that The Wiseman would soon make his comeback.
"I think The Wiseman will be back with The Bloodline soon, or at least, I truly, truly hope so. The only thing that can actually bring this family back together is The Wiseman. That's what The Bloodline needs. I think we'll get our WarGames Match. And there is no manager that is more equipped to handle a WarGames Match than Paul Heyman," he said.
It will be interesting to see if Paul Heyman returns to television in the coming weeks.
