Popular WWE Champion reveals heartfelt backstage talk with John Cena

John Cena has had a WWE locker room presence for two decades. The veteran superstar has been praised as a backstage leader in recent years as he became one of the longest-tenured talents. Current WWE Women's Champion Bayley has revealed an interesting story on The Cenation Leader.

The Role Model is regarded as among the most well-liked and respected stars. The former Four Horsewoman signed with WWE in December 2012, when Cena had already been with the company for more than ten years. The Face That Runs The Place is now preparing for retirement, as he announced at Money in the Bank, while Bayley is about to pass the 100-day mark on her current reign.

The Role Model recently spoke with US Magazine about Cena due to his 2025 retirement announcement. The 35-year-old recalled how she recently worked up the motivation to "shoot her shot" with the Hollywood star.

"I said, ‘John, if there’s anything you think is missing from the women’s division or anything specific you think I should work on, what should it be?' It turned into this hour-long conversation and it all came down to storytelling. What’s the story we’re trying to tell tonight? Don’t think about what they want, what he wants, what you want. It’s all about storytelling. He wants to give back in a way that not everybody does. He has such unique information that he can share. It brings us back to why we got into it. Having him around to have conversations has been really great," Bayley said.

Bayley praises fellow WWE Superstars

Bayley is a former WWE NXT Women's Champion. She had memorable moments in NXT and has continued to support the brand over the years.

The Role Model often tweets live during NXT shows. She watched along with fans during Sunday's Heatwave PLE, and gave major praise to everyone involved.

"@WWENXT is on fire right now! That was such a fun show to watch from top to bottom. Congrats to everyone involved!" Bayley wrote.

Bayley last wrestled on July 5, where she defeated Piper Niven on SmackDown. This was a rematch of her last title defense, which came on June 15 at Clash at the Castle: Scotland. Since dethroning IYO SKY at WrestleMania XL, Bayley has had just one other televised title defense, and that was at Backlash France, as she retained over Naomi and Tiffany Stratton in a Triple Threat match.
