Popular WWE star could give Drew McIntyre a "nervous breakdown," according to wrestling veteran
Former WWE manager Jim Cornette is impressed by the build to the CM Punk vs. Drew McIntyre rivalry.
Punk was the special commentator during the World Heavyweight Championship match between Seth Rollins and Drew. After The Scottish Warrior won the title, he decided to mock Punk. This did not end well for McIntyre as The Best in the World attacked him. This allowed Damian Priest to cash in his Money in The Bank contract, ending Drew's reign in a little over five minutes.
On a recent clip from Jim Cornette's Drive Thru podcast, the veteran spoke about how on the night after WrestleMania, CM Punk once again cost Drew a shot at the World Heavyweight Championship by interfering in the Fatal Four-Way Match. The former WWE manager mentioned that he was enjoying this feud already. Cornette hoped for The Straightedge Superstar to be ready for in-ring action soon so that WWE could continue this blockbuster feud. He felt that Punk's antics would cause Drew a lot of agony in the coming months.
"This is great. I hope that Punk can get back soon. I don't want them to lose momentum on this. But it's great. He's gonna give Drew McIntyre a nervous breakdown." [From 2:28 - 2:40]
Drew McIntyre has a lot of animosity for CM Punk
After the WrestleMania weekend, Drew McIntyre took to social media platform X/Twitter to express his disdain for Punk.
In a recent tweet, he mentioned that he would never forgive the 45-year-old star for ruining his WrestleMania moment. In fact, The Scottish Warrior was seen celebrating with his wife and other family members just before his title run came to an abrupt end.
In the past, Drew has taken full credit for putting CM Punk on the shelf and vowed to take revenge on the star for running his moment at The Show of Shows.
It will be interesting to see how WWE books this high-voltage feud once Punk has recovered from his torn tricep.
