Popular WWE star makes grand entrance for tonight's RAW
A popular WWE Superstar has arrived at tonight's edition of RAW in style. This week's episode of the red brand will air live in North Carolina and will feature the continuation of the King and Queen of the Ring tournaments.
Lyra Valkyria defeated Zoey Stark last week on WWE RAW to advance in the Queen of the Ring tournament. Damage CTRL's Iyo Sky defeated Shayna Baszler and will be squaring off against Lyra Valkyria tonight on the red brand. The winner of the match will advance to the finals of the Queen of the Ring tournament this Saturday at the premium live event in Saudi Arabia.
Ahead of tonight's show, Iyo Sky arrived at the Greensboro Coliseum in a fancy car and was greeted by her Damage CTRL stablemates.
The Genius of the Sky cashed in her Money in the Bank contract at SummerSlam 2023 to become WWE Women's Champion. However, Iyo Sky was dethroned by Bayley last month at WrestleMania.
WWE star believes betrayal by Damage CTRL was a long time coming
WWE Women's Champion Bayley believes that Damage CTRL was planning on betraying her for a long time.
The Role Model won the Women's Royal Rumble match earlier this year and selected Iyo Sky as her opponent after overhearing her former stablemates mocking her. In an exclusive interview with Sportskeeda Wrestling's Bill Apter, Bayley noted that her former faction was likely planning on betraying her for a while.
"Yeah, if you would have seen when they attacked me that day, I definitely saw it coming. It was a long time coming, I think. I feel now, looking back in hindsight, that they were just waiting for the right moment, and I think they thought I was a little dumber than I really am, you know?" [0:55 – 1:15]
