Popular WWE star provides recovery update 176 days after last match
WWE Superstars are often forced to deal with injuries. In-ring mishaps and training accidents are an unfortunate part of pro wrestling, but thanks to social media, fans are able to keep up with their favorite wrestlers as they work hard to get back in the ring. One rising WWE star has just checked in with a new video and a snide remark.
Cora Jade has not wrestled since January 12. She headlined a non-televised live event that night, going up against then-NXT Women's Champion Lyra Valkyria. After a fake injury spot early in the match, Jade later went down and had to be checked out by medics and officials. The 23-year-old suffered a torn ACL, MCL, and meniscus, then underwent surgery on January 23. Word from within WWE was that Jade could be out of action for 8-9 months.
The Sorceress of Sin began training for her return just over one month after surgery and has been updating the WWE Universe at various points in her recovery. She took to X today to share a training clip, noting how she's squatting six repetitions of 155 pounds at six months after the injury.
"155lbs x6, 6 months post torn ACL, MCL & meniscus [mechanical leg emoji] (working on getting the depth back I don’t wanna hear it)," Cora Jade wrote with the video below.
Jade's injury came one month after she returned at NXT Deadline in December 2023, which marked the end of a four-month hiatus. She attacked Valkyria at Deadline and was seemingly being set up for a push with the NXT Women's Championship. Jade made a surprise appearance back in May to issue a warning to Roxanne Perez and just shared a Heatwave update today.
