Popular WWE star reacts to The Undertaker returning to TV

This past week was a massive one for the WWE that saw The Undertaker return to WWE television. The Deadman made his return on this week’s NXT and laid out Bron Breakker after his match with Carmelo Hayes.

The past Tuesday was incredible for all pro wrestling fans as NXT went head-to-head with AEW Dynamite. WWE’s developmental brand featured some of the biggest main roster stars this week as the company aimed to leave their competition behind. Cody Rhoades, John Cena, Paul Heyman, Asuka, and LA Knight also appeared on the episode this week.

While all other appearances other than Knight’s were confirmed in advance by the company in order to attract viewers away from AEW, there had been rumors of the American Badass being present at the performance center, but his entrance still sent the fans into a frenzy.

One popular WWE figure was also in awe of the legendary Hall of Famer. Interviewer Cathy Kelley shared her excitement as the iconic gong sounded out at the arena. You can look at her tweet below.

"It’s the gong hitting for me," wrote Cathy.

WWE NXT dominates AEW in rating wars

Both companies pulled out all the stops in order to get one over their rival promotions. While NXT used main roster stars to drive interest, Dynamite held a special “Title Tuesday” version of the show. The gamble by WWE to have main roster stars on the show paid off, as they came out on top with a total viewership of 921,000. Dynamite, in turn, had a total viewership of 609,000.

The former Black and Gold brand also came out on top in the key demo of 18-49 with a rating of .30. The key demo rating for AEW was .26. While WWE were probably happy with their night, Tony Khan wasn’t happy about NXT using stars like Cena and Taker and made his displeasure known on Twitter.

While this week was a great week for wrestling fans, it will be interesting to see whether this further accelerates the rivalry between the two promotions.
