Popular WWE star seemingly teases split from Damage CTRL

Damage CTRL took WWE by storm when the faction moved to Friday Night SmackDown. Recently, multi-time Women's Tag Team Champion Dakota Kai seemingly teased a split from the faction after Monday Night RAW.

Dakota Kai has been the backbone of Damage CTRL after Bayley introduced Kai and IYO SKY to the world at SummerSlam in Nashville, Tennessee. The Captain of Team Kick played a crucial role while dealing with a torn ACL. Eventually, she sided with SKY over Bayley heading into WrestleMania in Philadelphia.

Recently, the group has been on Monday Night RAW and falling down the card with numerous losses. On a recent episode of WWE RAW, the faction was attacked by Lyra Valkyria, Kayden Carter, and Katana Chance. After the show, Kai sends a cryptic message, seemingly hinting at a potential split from the faction:

"⏳," Kai wrote.

With IYO SKY's temper tantrums and Sane's losing streak, Dakota Kai might want to break out on her own on Monday Night RAW. The faction also lost Asuka for a while, as The Empress of Tomorrow is training for an in-ring return after a knee injury.

Dakota Kai expresses interest in a potential singles run on WWE's main roster

Dakota Kai has been on and off with WWE for a while and extensively worked in the tag team division. The Aukland-born star is no stranger to success in the Stamford-based promotion as she's held the women's tag team titles on different occasions with IYO SKY and Raquel Rodriguez.

However, Kai's career took a back seat after her run with Sky as champions when she tore her ACL. Regardless of the injury, she worked as an on-screen character alongside Damage CTRL before returning to in-ring action. Recently, the star expressed her interest in a solo run.

The former NXT and WWE Women's Tag Team Champion also expressed interest in having a single run on WWE's main roster. The star was looking forward to kickstarting her run after a win over Zoey Stark and Ivy Nile. Sadly, it didn't go her way:

"I’ve yet to have my moment as a solo competitor on a PLE. I really think it’s about time we make that happen," Kai wrote.

Kai lost the qualifier match to Stark and got jumped by another team on Monday Night RAW. It'll be interesting to see what Kai does next on the red brand alongside Damage CTRL in the coming weeks.
