Popular WWE Superstar responds to allegations he stole a finishing move

A popular WWE Superstar recently responded to allegations of using a fellow performer's finisher. The name in question is Carmelo Hayes.

The 29-year-old was drafted to SmackDown earlier this year after a promising run on NXT. The former NXT Champion has continued to put forth impressive performances on the main roster as well. The star recently put on an exceptional match against Andrade on SmackDown and is seemingly in a feud with the star after some heated words were exchanged backstage. However, outside the ring, the star has been dealing with allegations that she stole Lyra Valkyria's old finisher.

Carmelo Hayes recently took to X (fka Twitter) to respond to a user claiming he stole fellow WWE star Lyra Valkyria's diving leg drop finishing move, which she used in NXT UK. Replying to the allegations, Hayes noted he was not blocking the 27-year-old WWE Superstar from using the move.

"I don’t gatekeep moves, I tell her bring it back all the time 😂," he wrote.

Carmelo Hayes reveals how defeating a former WWE Champion has changed his life

Carmelo Hayes pinned former WWE Champion Randy Orton in a Money in the Bank Qualifying Triple Threat match, which also featured The Bloodline's Tama Tonga. The former NXT Champion pulled off a major surprise as he rolled The Viper up for a successful pin.

In a recent interview with Emily Mae for Sportskeeda Wrestling, Hayes explained how his life changed after the win. The WWE SmackDown Superstar stated he started getting more credibility from people after he pinned the veteran.

"Ya, I could tell, you know, a lot of people looking at me a little different, in a good way. You know what I am saying? In a good way, lot of people outside, you know, give me a little more credibility and respect as they should. Getting free food at the airports now, you know what I mean? These little, you know, couple of little kids, they talking to me about it, and I told 'em spread the word, tell your little friends, so you know Toronto knows about it. It was a big deal, it was a big moment for me, but you know, most importantly, sometimes it's even being in the ring with Randy Orton, being a kid watching it is super cool. But to say, I guess you know, I pinned Randy Orton. That's the cherry on top," he said. [1:37 onwards]
