Popular WWE Superstar set to break tradition for the first time in 10 years on RAW

A former champion in WWE is set to break tradition for the first time in a decade during tonight's episode of RAW. Tonight's show is the second to last edition of the red brand before SummerSlam and will air live from Green Bay, Wisconsin.

The Final Testament and The New Day are involved in a bitter rivalry on WWE television. Karrion Kross attacked Kofi Kingston on the July 1 edition of RAW and injured his arm. Xavier Woods will be teaming up with Alpha Academy's Otis and Akira Tozawa to battle the heel stable in a Six-Man Tag Team match.

According to Wrestling Stats & Info (@WWEStats) on X/Twitter, tonight will be the first time in a decade that Xavier Woods will be competing in a tag team match without a member of The New Day. The former King of the Ring teamed up with R-Truth to battle the Wyatt Family on an episode of Main Event in 2014.

Former WWE Champion comments on The New Day possibly adding another member

RAW star Kofi Kingston is not interested in adding another member to The New Day faction.

The popular group is comprised of Big E, Kofi Kingston, and Xavier Woods. However, Big E has not competed in a match since suffering a broken neck in March 2022. In an exclusive interview with Sportskeeda Wrestling's Emily Mae earlier this year, Kingston stated the group would no longer be The New Day if they added another member.

"So, I've said this, and I'm firm in my stance. If you add something to the New Day, it is no longer the New Day. For example, if you have a tomato soup and you add some cream to it, it is no longer tomato soup; it is a tomato bisque. So, it's a little bit different. It's not going to be the same, you know?" said Kofi Kingston. [From 01:50 - 02:11]

Chad Gable used to be the leader of Alpha Academy but the group has left him behind due to his attitude. It will be fascinating to see which team emerges victorious in the Six-Man Tag Team match later tonight on RAW.
