Popular WWE Superstar teases heel turn following major title win; hints at partnering with The Rock

A current champion in WWE has hinted at a heel turn in an interesting message to The Rock. The Final Boss confronted Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes on the RAW after WrestleMania XL but has not appeared since. This was WWE RAW Superstar Tommaso Ciampa.

Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa (#DIY) defeated Grayson Waller and Austin Theory (A-Town Down Under) in the main event of this past Friday's edition of SmackDown to become the new WWE Tag Team Champions. Tommaso Ciampa shared a video of his child celebrating the victory and The Rock responded to the post on Instagram in the comments section.

The Great One noted that he loved it and will see Ciampa down the road. Ciampa then reacted to The Brahma Bull's message and said that if he betrays Johnny Gargano again, they will be in touch. Johnny Wrestling then hilariously responded to Ciampa's message and wondered why he would say such a thing. The Instagram account "Nikkiexxtra1" took a screenshot of the hilarious interaction and you can check it out in the post below.

"Oh, hey Final Boss. Once I turn on Johnny again, let's talk... Kidding... Kind of," he wrote.

WWE legend explains why The Rock got booed ahead of WrestleMania XL

Wrestling veteran D-Von Dudley recently shared his thoughts on the WWE Universe turning against The Rock ahead of WrestleMania XL earlier this year.

Speaking with Bill Apter in an exclusive interview with Sportskeeda Wrestling, D-Von noted that The Rock was at his peak in a different era and some of the fans today may not know much about his history. The veteran added that things change all the time and it is important to adapt.

"You have some that are booing him, some that are cheering him. You know again, different time, different era. The fans of today were not there when The Rock was at his, the peak of his career. And he was the most beloved wrestler in pro-wrestling at the time. And you know, that happens. When a generation is not there to see the stardom of someone who was a star before they were even born... They don't get how strong that person was during his time in his era. Again, it's a different era. You know, things change, you just gotta go with the flow." [2:47 onwards]

The Rock has claimed that he backed out of the planned WrestleMania XL main event against Roman Reigns due to the negative response by WWE fans. It will be interesting to see when the 52-year-old returns to the promotion down the line.
