Prayers up for WCW legend Konnan

It's no secret that WCW veteran Konnan has been battling health issues in recent months. Though he was discharged from the hospital a couple of weeks ago, a recent report has suggested that he is still experiencing some issues.

Konnan is one of the most celebrated Cuban wrestlers, who was a fixture in the now-defunct World Championship Wrestling. Even though he never wrestled for WWE, he was invited by the promotion to induct Rey Mysterio into the Hall of Fame in 2023. He is also a popular critic, with his Keepin' It 100 podcast, where he shares his thoughts about the business, having a sizable following.

Last month, reports came out about Konnan suffering from diverticulitis, which had him hospitalized for a few weeks. While he was later discharged after recovering, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has revealed that he's still facing issues. Meltzer noted that the WCW legend was struggling with his breathing.

"He’s had issues with being out of breath and lethargic and at one point was hyperventilating for seven hours,” wrote Meltzer.

WCW legend Konnan is not a fan of Jon Moxley's AEW character

On a recent episode of the Keepin' It 100 podcast, Konnan explained that he had high hopes for Jon Moxley during the early stages of his career and when he was a part of WWE. However, the 60-year-old was displeased with Mox's current run in AEW as the leader of The Death Riders, saying he's not a fan of his character.

"I remember Norman Smiley who works at the like training guide in WWE and I remember him saying here there's this guy...what was his name before Moxley....Dean Ambrose. He goes there's this kid called Dean Ambrose you got to look out for him cause he's very different. He walks to the beat of his own drum and he's going to be a star one day and so I went and I looked for him and I saw this promo he did in the indies and I was like, 'Wow! this guy is good.' So, I was a big Dean Ambrose Moxley fan too. I'm not a fan of what he's doing right now," said Konnan.

The AEW World Champion and his stablemates have created chaos in All Elite Wrestling, though a babyface team led by Darby Allin has stepped up to them.
