R-Truth fails to adhere to threat from former WWE champion on RAW
It is uncanny how R-Truth manages to stay relevant even with the very little content he is given on WWE RAW. The veteran maximizes his television time, so perhaps this was why the company decided to pair him with an athlete who, to say the least, has been floundering on the flagship show for a while.
Following Pete Dunne's tag team partner Tyler Bate's injury, Pete has been riding solo. This year, he had a noteworthy program with former WWE Champion Sheamus. However, the feud did not carry into a massive premium live event match. Needless to say, The Englishman has proved his mettle.
Taking to X/Twitter, R-Truth has taken yet another dig at Pete Dunne. The two give some comic relief to the viewers in a mostly action-packed show. The story revolves around Dunne's former ring name, Butch. Every opportunity Truth gets, he calls The Bruiserweight Butch:
"That Butch on the shelf struck again!" R-Truth wrote on X.
Pete Dunne's rivalry with The Celtic Warrior also featured an angle in which he could not stand the latter provoking him with the name Butch. During their run together as The Brawling Brutes on SmackDown, Pete wrestled under this ring name.
Sheamus believes Pete Dunne needs the right opportunity, compares WWE star to Bryan Danielson
Former WWE Superstar Bryan Danielson (aka Daniel Bryan) had a lengthy rivalry with Sheamus in the tens. The two men worked two WrestleMania shows, including the infamous 18-second match.
In an interview on The Pat McAfee Show during his program with Pete Dunne, Sheamus praised his former stablemate. The Irishman recounted his matches with The American Dragon, saying Dunne reminds him of Bryan. Furthermore, he is certain the former WWE UK Champion will succeed:
"One of the things that set me off in my career, after I had gone through John Cena, Randy and Hunter, and all that, I went in with Daniel Bryan. Bryan Danielson. It was great. And I see the same traits in Pete Dunne because he's got a great creative mind, but he's also aggressive. He just needs to let go, and he let go on Monday night. It was awesome," Sheamus said.
Pete Dunne had scored a pinfall victory over Sheamus during their heated rivalry earlier this year. As of this writing on RAW, The Englishman continues his program with R-Truth.
