R-Truth planning major "collab" following WWE SummerSlam
R-Truth may be a beloved WWE veteran, but nobody could have foreseen what he did after his return from a year-long injury in November 2023. His delusional escapades have become a favorite among wrestling fans. Perhaps this is why he consistently gets opportunities to perform on the company's flagship show.
Up until recently, The Miz and R-Truth held the World Tag Team Championship. It seems the 52-year-old veteran's next step is to collaborate with Jelly Roll.
Jelly Roll played a role at this year's SummerSlam. He performed "God Bless America" and his own track, "Liar." Later in the night, he joined Miz and Truth for an in-ring segment with A-Town Down Under, in which he chokeslammed Austin Theory. The trio then hit a Five-Knuckle Shuffle on the fallen former United States Champion.
Taking to Instagram, R-Truth shared a backstage snap with Jelly Roll, but the former believes the chart-topping country singer is Post Malone. Check out Truth's hilarious post below:
"Me and @postmalone backstage at #Summerslam2024 discussing a music collab!! Yahh!!🙌🏿🔥," R-Truth wrote.
It remains to be seen what is next for Truth, who is showing no signs of slowing down with his impeccable run in 2024.
Cody Rhodes wants to put an end to his WWE rivalry with R-Truth
Apparently, Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes has a bone to pick with R-Truth. The American Nightmare even elaborated on what his issues with the veteran are really about. He claims that he and Truth have a "deep history," which dates all the way back to the time when Rhodes performed as Stardust in WWE.
At the time, Cody Rhodes was not booked the way he is today. Whenever he and R-Truth stepped into the ring, it was the latter who was always booked to win.
"I think Stardust lost 42 different times to R-Truth. Sometimes the matches were less than two minutes. So when people say finishing the story, part of finishing that story is beating R-Truth. Right now, I can’t touch him. Everyone loves R-Truth. He’s the man and I have to be, 'Oh, great, R-Truth!' But if you see R-Truth come in the Rumble and me just double leg him and take him down. You’ll know why. Deep history."
WWE saw it fitting to reward Truth and Miz for their contributions over the years at WrestleMania XL with a tag team title win, so perhaps it's not out of the question that the 52-year-old veteran receives a crack at a world title down the line.
