Randy Orton breaks character; apologizes to Kevin Owens' former partner live on WWE SmackDown
Randy Orton and Kevin Owens teamed up for a big match on WWE SmackDown. Following the contest, Orton did something that he's not used to doing on live TV.
KO came out for his tag team match against Grayson Waller and Austin Theory (A-Town Down Under) on Friday Night. Owens informed the WWE Universe that his original partner couldn’t make it to the show due to travel issues.
Kevin Owens revealed that a wrestler named Ricky, who he had just met, would team up with him for the contest. A-Town Down Under was left both amused and overconfident following the revelation.
However, a WWE production team member stepped in and informed The Prizefighter that his original partner, Randy Orton, had indeed made it for the show. This prompted Owens to hit his former partner Ricky, who was about to compete in his first WWE match, with a stunner. The Viper then made his entrance for the contest.
Ricky was close to becoming The Prizefighter’s partner as the referee was about to call for the bell. However, he became his former partner as the match never got started and Kevin Owens himself disposed of him before Randy Orton came out.
Following the contest, Randy Orton broke character, looked at the camera, and said "Sorry Ricky" to apologize to Kevin Owens' former partner. It’s uncommon for The Viper to apologize, especially live on TV.

A-Town Down Under took the loss after Kevin Owens and The Viper hit DDTs at the same time before hitting a Stunner and RKO simultaneously for the win. It was an entertaining contest from an unexpected duo that is doing extremely well on SmackDown.
WWE recently made a massive change to a show featuring Randy Orton
NXT is set to move to the CW Network on October 1. To make the change a massive success, many top stars are advertised to make appearances during the first few episodes next month.
Randy Orton was originally announced to appear on the October 8, 2024, episode of NXT in St. Louis, Missouri. However, WWE recently changed the venue of the show, and it will now be held in Chesterfield, Missouri.
Kevin Owens could also make a surprise appearance at the show since he’s working in a tag team with Orton. The Prizefighter had a successful run in NXT and has returned to the brand several times since moving to the main roster.
The duo could face a top tag team on the roster or have a battle on the mic against some top heels on the show. Their combined appearance will help boost the show’s ratings.
