Randy Orton confirms contract status ahead of WWE Bash in Berlin
Randy Orton is set to challenge Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship at the WWE Bash in Berlin Premium Live Event. The Viper made a major announcement on his contract status ahead of the PLE.
It was recently reported that Orton had agreed to a new five-year deal with the Stamford-based promotion, until late 2029. During his appearance on the Bash in Berlin Kickoff Show, Randy Orton confirmed that he has indeed signed a "five-year extension" with WWE. He also spoke about the success he has had in the company, having won 14 World Titles so far.
"Already I’m in amazing company with Flair, Cena, and then I’m tied at 14 World Titles with Triple H. So I’m in very good company. I would almost say that after I was given my second chance at in-ring competition, that I was satisfied. But then we had the King of the Ring. Then the finish happened at King of the Ring where my shoulders weren’t all the way down and I got an opportunity – an opportunity to face Gunther at Bash In Berlin for the World Title. And I realized, I just signed a five-year extension to my contract," said Randy Orton.
The Viper, however, is not satisfied with his current haul and wants to add more World Championship reigns to his record.
“I’ve got some time left to do this, I feel better than I’ve felt in over a decade, I want that title, and I want to be a 15-time World Champion and then a 16-time World Champion, and even a 17-time World Champion, and set yet another record here in the WWE," he added. [H/T: WrestleTalk]
Hall of Famer makes a bold prediction about Gunther vs. Randy Orton at WWE Bash in Berlin
While speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestling's UnSKripted, Bill Apter stated that The Ring General will emerge victorious after a hard-hitting encounter against Randy Orton at Bash in Berlin.
He then predicted that Ludwig Kaiser could play a role in the match, possibly leading to some tension between Gunther and the 34-year-old WWE Superstar.
"I think he will [Gunther winning], but I think it's gonna be a really tough match. Very exciting, and the crowd is going to be insane. All the foreign crowds are wonderfully insane. And I think that Ludwig is gonna get involved in this title match, and that's gonna start the heat between him and Gunther at this point," Apter noted.
