Randy Orton evades surprise attack backstage
Randy Orton has been an integral part of the WWE roster for years now. He is a locker room leader and someone who guides the superstars of today. In an attempt to get the better of Orton, Tommaso Ciampa tried to hit him with an RKO out of nowhere but unsurprisingly, he failed again.
Randy Orton was away from the WWE for almost two years and made his triumphant return at Survivor Series last year. Since then, he has been a part of many storylines and is currently battling The Bloodline. One of his biggest achievements since his return has been reaching the finals of the King of the Ring tournament.
Recently, Tomasso Ciampa has been trying to hit Orton with an RKO out of nowhere. The former NXT star tried hitting The Viper with his deadly maneuver yet again this week backstage. However, Orton evaded the attack smoothly without even batting an eye.
What was the controversy around Randy Orton's loss at King of the Ring?
Randy Orton faced Gunther in the finals of the King of the Ring tournament in Saudi Arabia. The two WWE Superstars pushed each other to their limits while giving the fans a showdown to remember. In the end, The Ring General was able to pin Orton to be crowned the King of the Ring.
After the match, a clip showed that one of The Viper's shoulders was off the mat while the referee counted to three. The video sent the WWE Universe into a frenzy. The fans are demanding a rematch to see an undisputed winner emerge. However, the rematch never happened.
Winning the King of the Ring guaranteed Gunther a chance to challenge for the World Heavyweight Title at SummerSlam. He will be going one-on-one against the winner of the title match between Damian Priest and Seth Rollins from Money in the Bank.
